Choosing the Car Covers That Fit Your Needs

With the advance of technology, car covers these days are made of many kind of materials and available in many kind of designs too. It’s always best if you choose the type that suits your life style to provide optimal function. Basically, there are three types of car covers that you can choose. They are water proof, water resistant and non water resistant. You will have to decide which one that will work best for your situation.

If you driving in a country that has a tropic climate and has heavy rain a lot, you should consider using the waterproof cover to protect your vehicle. The waterproof type of cover is usually made of plastic film or plastic coated fabric. These types of covers will keep the rain off of your vehicle. However, the downside to this type is that it can trap condensation between the cover and your vehicle. The moisture that is trapped can attack the car’s finish and cause more damage than if you had left the car uncovered.

If you driving for routine around your city that has a medium rate of rainy weathers, then you may want the water resistant car covers for your precious vehicle. Compared to the waterproof type, the water resistant car covers are more breathable. These types of covers repel most of the water and also allow air to circulate which prevents condensation. Car covers that are made of cotton or a blend of cotton and polyester are available in a flannel style. These types of covers are not usually waterproof and should not be used outside for long periods of time.
